Tyrone Ranatunga
DATA ANALYST
Tyrone specialises in providing technology assurance and project services. He has experience in software design and implementation, IT establishment, IT risk, project assurance and business resilience. His technical background drives balanced executive decision-making for his clients.
Tyrone effectively communicates with technical and non-technical stakeholders. He has demonstrated his ability to manage workload effectively despite environments with constrained resourcing and competing priorities.
Tyrone was recently involved in a highly successful IT establishment project for a heavily regulated Energy Sector start-up client. He worked with the client by facilitating workshops and focus groups to understand business processes, capturing effective requirements to maximise usability of the existing energy trading platform while guiding competing stakeholder expectations ahead of a legislated project launch date.
He worked with various stakeholders to create associated ‘on-a-page’ material for use on go-live. These usable guides were structured to give guidance to business and IT on steps on what do and who to call (i.e. vendors and third parties) during possible issues on go-live. Tyrone worked with IT to create best practice IT Operational Plans and processes (i.e. change and incident / defect management governance) to support IT Operations pre and post go-live.
During his time on the project, Tyrone uplifted mission-critical business continuity capabilities of the client through conducting a Business Impact Assessment which lead to the development of Business Continuity and IT Disaster Recovery Plans spanning across key areas of the business.
Tyrone was involved in providing project assurance (impartial assessment on project future performance and recommendations on project best practice) across a Government entity’s Dynamics 365 CRM implementation of a utilities’ asset management solution. He supported the completion of UAT entry checks across entry criteria including testing completion, traceability and reporting.
Tyrone was involved in the post-implementation review of security controls at a Queensland Super Company. He worked closely with SMEs and control owners to conduct a review of the control framework in place assessing the design and operating effectiveness of key data security controls over access management, file integrity, fraud detection and operational security.
